We have been hard at work behind the scenes here and are excited for you to meet the new “home” for Traci Huffman Photography!!!

When I stepped out on my own 5 years ago to launch Traci Huffman Photography, I had NO clue what the future would hold. Yet here I am today feeling extremely grateful for all that these past 5 years of my own small business have been filled with.

I have a million thoughts and emotions running through me right now and so much I want to share, but I am having a tough time putting it all into words. So here goes my best attempt to keep this celebration and giveaway announcement as short and sweet as possible.

In the summer of 2017 we received some life changing news that we were not ready for and it led to over a year of surgery, hospitals, doctors, doors closed, and a lot more that I will one day share all about. I share this today because it led to big changes in my life and business. You see when we got this news I emotionally shut down and when it came to my business it was all I could do to continue with what was already on my calendar. I started putting my energy into others businesses and helping them succeed and just getting by in my own. While at the time I thought this was all a bad thing in reality God was opening my heart and business to new things.

During this period I found a whole new way of how to serve my clients well and do the work that fires up my soul. I fell in love with working with small businesses that make an impact and have been extremely blessed with those I have gotten to capture. Serious dream clients!

I also discovered that I not only love capturing couples and families no matter what stage they are in, but being able to step in and encourage them gives me life. For example showing up for a newborn session but mom isn’t feeling up for photos thanks to no sleep and all the things, but I can step in and offer to snuggle the baby while giving mom some time to freshen up because one day she will need those photos as reminders.

For so long I was trying to “niche” down to what the industry says I should be doing, but that is not who God created me to be! I am finally not just ok with that, but proud of that! I went to masterminds and workshops and tried to explain that I didn’t want to just be a “family photographer” or “branding photographer” that I knew my “niche” was about the experience I bring no matter what type of shoot it is. I was encouraged by friends and respected business owners to go for it and they were cheering me on, but the problem was I kept talking about it and not doing anything about it.

For the past 5 years of my business I have done it all on my own, including building and managing my website (see below). The sad thing is though, the last time I updated my website or blogged a photography session was July of 2017. Again…emotionally shut down.

I knew it was time to outsource to take things to the next level but there are so many amazing creatives out there how in the world do I pick the right one?! I am full of color, light, and joy in my photos and I want the world to see that and needed to find someone who has a similar style to share that. Long story short, in comes the incredible Megan Martin. I knew I loved her work, but after a quick consultation and her being able to summarize what I had been trying to make sense of for over a year in minutes…it was clear she was the one to refresh Traci Huffman Photography! Megan, you are a gift that I can never thank enough!!!

This has been a TRUE labor of nothing but love and clarity. It has been in the works for a long time, and I am so excited to finally share it with the world! I hope that you will be able to see this as you scroll through the new and improved Traci Huffman Photography website. I hope my mission and passion is clear and encouraging to you today!
